Sally Gap in Wicklow (check out the tours that Bus Eireann run), West Cork and west Waterford, Wexford town (include Curracloe beach), Kilkenny castle, the Burren in Clare, Connemara in Galway... I'm not sure about Dublin city. I live in Dublin and love it, but I don't know that it's so great from a visitor's point of view. If you do see Dublin then take the DART (train) along the coast, places like Greystones, Dalkey and Howth are pretty. Enjoy ( ;

I only liked 2 places...

Waterford and Killarney.

Didn't go up north or along the west coast. The weather was constant rain and fog - so that didn't help.

Dublin is the worst place I've been to in the British Isles. I would rather go to Aberdeen.

God, the anti-Irish brigade are still out in force. It must be the weather that brings them out...

My top ten would include

Wicklow Mountains
Rock of Cashel
Conamara
Joyce Country, Lough Corrib and Lough Mask
West Mayo

Amen to West Cork as well.

Skellig Mhichil, without a doubt.

lol saskia.

The Irish rural driver is a menace all right. I think the problem is that he or she knows exactly who is going to be where in the district at any time on any day. So if some poor tourist makes an unscheduled appearance on the far side of a blind corner that said driver is blithely taking rather wide in the knowledge that there won't be anyone around the bend, problems may arise.
