Hi!

I'll be heading to Ireland this summer and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where I could find a good horse trekking or falconry program. I'm not really looking for anything too in-depth, they're just two activities I've always wanted to try out. I'm still kind of open on where exactly I'll be heading in Ireland, so location isn't too much of an issue yet.

Thanks!

Ashford Castle in Cong has a falconry. I know that falcon activities are available for guests at this extremely expensive hotel castle. I'm not sure if the falconry is available to nonguests. Look at the Ashford Castle website for details.

In County Galway you can ride on the beach with the Cleggan Beach Riding centre - we were there in July and it was great.

Not sure about the falconry, but if you're on the west coast, try out a riding centre called Go Trekking in Westport. You can contact them through the hotel their the Westport Woods Hotel.
Great riding, wild beach gallops, mountain and woodland treks and breathtaking scenery.

Check it out. :-)

I agree with luv2travel, i went riding with the Go Trekking outfit with some friends in April and we had a blast. We spend the first night Westport in a local B&B but then moved to the hotel Westport Woods which is where we found out about the riding centre.
I'm not the best rider, but 2 of my friends are pretty good, but it didn't matter as there were two guides out with us and one rode a little slower with me while the other galloped off with my friends, so we were all pretty happy!

I can definetely recommend them, it's a really organised outfit and the countryside around that coastline if amazing.
