I am posting on behalf of a couple of French-speaking people from France, who are going to walk the Dingle Way in 1 week from now. Camping. They will land in Shannon, and pass by Limerick and Tralee before starting the walk.
Their specific questions are the following :
1) Will it be possible to find gas refills in Tralee or Limerick (if not, where else??) They use MSR POCKET ROCKET , which is compatible with MSR and PRIMUS valves 225 or 450, COLEMAN valves 100, 250 and 500
2) They intend to walk: Tralee-> Camp-> Castelgregory -> Cloghane -> Ballycurrane -> Dúnquin -> Dingle - > Anascau, but all the info they could find on the net suggest to walk it the other way around. So, is it better to walk D.Way the way seemingly suggested on internet, and if so: why?
Thanks a lot for quick answers, if possible. I will foreward your replies asap

thx odecar, but I am afraid that more personal experience would be helpful: I tried your link for camping supplies in both Limerick and Tralee, and the very few links provided give no details at all. "U.S. Bargain Store" and "Army Store" ... if they must buy fuel for their 1 week+ walk, and end up in a kind of store that sells none... they will be pretty much out of luck. Thanks anyway.

I was being lazy as assummed you'd find on Golden Pages, another way is ring Tourist info in the town and they will tell you of outddor shops.

I walked the Dingle Way a few years back when it was first opened and I did it the clockwise direction - Tralee, Camp, Anascaul. Dingle, Dunquin, Brandon, Castlegregory, Tralee.
There aren't any rules, but I would prefer my route because firstly the scenery is much more varied and interesting before you reach the 'highlight' part of the Way around Dingle to Dunquin and secondly if you do it anti-clockwise you will have several miles of beach walking to do and then the climb over Masatiompan on Brandon mountain, which is the 'crux', or hardest part of the Way, before reaching the most scenic part. If your friends are inclined to abandon the walk before finishing, then at least if they do it the clockwise traditional direction they will be getting the good scenery in the first few days.
