Hi, so Im going to Ireland in June and we are landing in Dublin. We are going to Galway for a few days, then Sligo for a few days and then we are coming back to Dublin the last day to catch the flight at 8pm. I was wondering how much the train would be from Dublin to Galway then Galway to Sligo then Sligo to Dublin. Also I was wondering how long it takes and if the bus might be cheaper, even thought its most probably gonna take longer. Thank you.

There are no trains from Galway to Sligo. Main coach service will be via Bus Eireann.

Fares and railway timetables see Irish railways www.irishrail.ie

The Getting Around sections of both lp and Rough Guides for Ireland give further details. Also see www.seat61.com and follow link for Ireland.

The bus will be cheaper and you can get a direct bus from the airport to Galway as opposed to schlepping into Hueston Station to get the train (and that bus will be faster, easier and likely cheaper than the effort to catch the train). Check out the Dublin airport site for details on buses to Galway, should be about a tenner or so, and do check the private companies as well Bus Eirann. You can also get a direct bus from Sligo to Dublin airport with Bus Eirann and maybe other bus companies too.
