um troll?

have no idea why anyone would consider Melbourne/Hong Kong/ Helsinki/ London / Amsterdam / Dublin.
or
Melbourne/Singapore/Paris/Frankfurt/London/Dublin

why not a direct flight or at least Melb/London/Dublin

if the above are mucking around with budget airlines, you probably not saving much in the long run.

#1 The airports listed read, to me, as alternatives, and not part of a tour.
After the price, the thing to consider is if you need a visa, in case your flight is delayed and you want to drop into town. I'd avoid China, and Doha; you might be different.

Can't she meet you halfway, eg Dubai or Hong Kong?

You can get quotes for those journeys at STA travel etc, which track when cheap fares come on the market.

I would have thought Melbourne _london is a very competitive route. Then get a cheap flight with BMI,Aer Lingus or Ryanair to Dublin.

Just avoid school holidays and Christmas. February/November are usually cheapest

Try Emirates - Melbourne, Dubai, London / Manchester / Edinburgh / Newcastle. From any of them you can get cheap flights to Dublin
