Hello Everyone,

Am flying into Dublin March 15. Am hoping to stay there til the 18th in order to enjoy St Patricks Day before moving on. Does anyone know which area I should look for a hotel in? Mid-range would be great.

Also, what types of celebration occur during this time? Is Dublin the place to be or is there a more exciting area to be in at this time.

Thanks a lot!

Anywhere in the city centre will suffice, it's not a big sprawling place. Try and book ASAP, some may already be full.

Google "Jurys Inn Dublin" they have a few hotels around the city only 10 minute walk (or less) into the city. They have hotels in the Christchurch, Parnell St and on the Customs House Quay / Dockland areas. I've never stayed in them but think they are your standard 3 star hotels.

In general, accomodation in Dublin is on the expensive side and may increase around what is the biggest Irish holiday, so I'd suggest you do your research and compare prices before booking.

Enjoy!

patricks day in dublin city centre is dog rough, every scum bag in dublin it seems is on the beer from early on and come 4pm the place gets pretty feral, if you are ina pub you'll be fine but i guess what i'm trying to say is I would visit dublin at another time rather than patricks (ironic I know) - although there is some good stuff going on too, street festivals etc - pity they attract the punters that they do.......just bear in mind!
