Some companies do, like Fergalh said about Budget above and Avis charge an additional insurance charge also

As other posters have said you have to pay extra insurance. This is logical as you are taking the car into a different country. I wouldn't expect there to be any other charges and if you are advertising your company here on the basis that it doesn't have these charges either then its an odd thing to boast about. Is advertising allowed on this forum btw?

My comments were addressed to the original post to advise on the matter and are intended to be helpful in stating that not all companies charge insurance fees for cross border travels in Ireland. Seasons' Greetings!

What a kind soul you are. I'm sure you didn't even notice that you've advertised your company, both in the name you've chosen and in your posts.

For sure Mr Bunkcampers is advertising for his company . His post should be removed and having experienced his vans last summer I must say I was mostly disappointed as the roof leaked and we got soaked every night (I confirm that it often rains in Ireland).

We had some very bad experience with bunkcampers too. After the rear windows was smashed one night by some drunken guys. Everybody else (the police, the taxidriver, the hostel guys) was very helpful in this terrible situation but bunkcampers didn't support us in any way. Contrariwise they called us liars, threatened us with paying all the costs for the damage, the relocation from belfast to dublin, the residual days and didn't want to give us the camper van back. In the end we only payed the damage and the taxi (with the taxometer running while they slowly did the paperwork) taking us to a very nice hostel in belfast.
