I'm heading to Ireland for two weeks in december/january. I was wondering if there are any camping places open at that time, cause I plan to do some hiking. Is it possible to camp wild in the nature/ in national parks?

thanks in advance

Most official camping places are closed in winter - but in any case they are more geared for caravans/RVs than individuals. You can camp wild in upland areas, but it's a pretty unpleasant time of year for it, with short days.

There are some good hostels with a bed for under 20 euro - see An Oige. Glendalough, Knockree and Errigal are open all year and have hiking on the doorstep.

Plenty of places to camp. Dont pay a penny to camp anywhere. I grew up here and camp all year round where ever I want.
If you are on someones land just ask permission and all should be well. Beaches are key!
