We're looking to spend around 3 nights in Kerry in mid August. We're from the UK, but will be travelling down from Leitrim with some friends.
Ideally, would like to base ourselves in a small town, with a variety of pubs, restaurants and reasonably priced B&B's - around 30-40 euro per person per night.
Initial ideas are to base ourselves in Cahersiveen. It looks nice enough on the web, and has the handful of pubs that are important to our basic needs lol.
Not really interested in Dingle or Tralee as I think I'm right in thinking they are very much set up for visitors out to get the traditional music vibe. Now don't get me wrong, I love traditional music etc, but our Irish friends are not great fans. After all they come from a County where Country 'n' Irish music is everywhere : )
So to summarise, is Cahersiveen a decent enough place to base ourselves for a few nights, or can anyone suggest a better location?
Many thanks
