Markfawkner,

Those websites are quite good for competitive hotel prices, especially trivago.

Thank you for sharing that with me.

Anyone here ever stay at the Central Hotel downtown?

If so, what's your review of it?

The term downtown has no meaning outside the US.

Hi! I infact work in the Conference industy and I cant understand why they didnt organize your hotel for you. But here is my advice;

If you connect from the airport by bus, there is a stop (under the bridge as I remember it) on Talbot Street, or you would wait for it to turn back to the start on O'Connel Street, from either of which, you can walk straight, following the pedestrian street West. Continue along Henry Street, and keep going straight when you meet the road and a converted church opposite on the left. Keep going straight, through the D7 area, and continue until you meet with the sea on the other side of the island, where I suggest you submerge yourself for referring to backpackers in hostels as "20-dumb thing idiots" on a Travel forum.
