Hello All --
We are visiting Ireland in a few weeks, our plan is: Doolin, Dingle, Kinsale, Kilkenney, Dublin. We will only be there six nights and I know our itinerary is ambitous, but there is so much we want to see. (Clearly a second trip is in order!) My question is this, does anyone know of any interesting little antique shops that might be within our itinerary? Not really looking for furniture and such, just intersting things with local "flavor". Any and all suggestions appreciated -- thanks in advance!

There is a nice and rather quaint antique shop on Abbey Street in Ennis. I suppose you'll get through Ennis going from Doolin to Dingle. Another one on Main Street, Kinsale (last time I've been there at least, I think it's called Linda's), but a bit upmarket, in Adare (on your way to Dingle) are two, mostly aimed at tourist I think. In Dublin you'll find plenty, mainly in Dublin 2, that's south inner city.

The one in Ennis is the most interesting imo. It's full of stuff, from jewellery over crockery, odd paintings to small furniture. I once bought a set of cute turn of the century wineglasses there. They still adorn my dresser. They are too tiny to actually drink wine with. I've been told that ladies in earlier times just sipped a wee bit of wine in tiny glasses. Not like us modern girls ... ;-)))

Happy shopping!

In Dublin most of the Antique shops are on Francis Street off Thomas Street and near Christ Church Cathedral .

There is a little used book/gift shop in Doolin on fisherstreet. They have an interesting selection of old books.

If you happen to be in Galway, there are a couple of antique shops off of shop street.
