I'm planning on doing a trip around Ireland (mainly the South and South West) in the last two weeks of November staying mainly in HI hostels and B&Bs. Apart from booking the first night in Dublin, do I need to book the rest ahead of time or will there be plenty of available beds at that time of year? I'll be renting a car so transport isn't an issue.

I don't know about HI hostels, you'll certainly find out over their website. But independent hostels and B&Bs have low season in November and are hardly ever fully booked. However, a lot of hostels and B&Bs close down for the winter but there are still plenty open. With a car you are flexible enough to look around. I think you won't have a problem to find accommodation on the spot.

na, you'll be grand. there's be loads of B&Bs around and i'm sure the hostels will be open as well. have fun

You will be fine , loads of accomodation. check out www.ireland.ie and other tourist websites and make sure there are no festivals on though, thta is the only way you might have hassle getting accomodation, but it is highly unlikely. have a good one. bring a rain coat, and a hip flask!!!!
