Hello,
Oops, I should have added that I am a primary teacher, still eligable for the working holiday permit, and that downtown London or Stansted are my preferred places of work.

I am Australian Teacher living in NL. Due to their immigration laws, I am waiting for my visa to work here, so I thought that I might come to England to work while I wait. As I would probably fly back to NL every 2nd weekend, I was hoping to find some well paid supply work. Or do all agancies pay the same rate? I don't…

Hi

Am just wondering whether anyone else is experiencing similar problems. I have an Australian HSBC ATM card - which is Maestro. I have been in the Uk for the last 12 months, and my Aussie ATM card did not work (no chip). I came back to Oz, got them to reissue the card (still no chip) and was assured by them that it will work as it is Maestro. Has anyone else had this problem, because HSBC in Oz swear that I am the only person complaining about this. If it is just me fine, but I am certain…

I'm not sure if I should post this in the England branch, or American, or what. But here goes. My grandmother was a member of the British Commonwealth and an English citizen, born in Trinidad. She became an American Citizen. Would it be possible for me, an American to get dual English citizenship? I think you can if your grandparent is English, but as she wasn't born there, I'm not sure. I figure it would make travelling and living in the EU a lot easier for me. Any helpful advice is…

Will have to move from Cambridge to west London at the end of June with about ten cardboard boxes and possibly a bicycle. Three of us were hoping to travel together in the van but don't know if there would be room. Any suggestions which rental agencies are most reasonably priced? We would want to pick up the van in Cambridge and drop it off in London.

Hi all,

I've been told that I should queue early for tickets at Leicester Sq for same-day tickets -
but what are the chances of realistically getting cheap tickets for big shows such as Phantom of the Opera and Les Miz for the June period?

Should I just skip the queue and order online (and pay loads more) or still try my luck at TKTS or at the Box Office?

Does TKTS allow booking for 2-3 days in advance?

Online booking appears to be somewhat of a bane with many websites offering the same tickets…

I just realized, we are flying into London next Tuesday, May 29th. According to the travel book I have, it is "Spring Bank Holiday", and that "most businesses grind to a halt, due to the banks being closed". Does anyone have any idea what I can expect. Will Underground/Tube be affected?? What about the standard tourist sights. Any info appreciated. Thanks, Lori
