I am trying to purchase my train tickets, Heathrow to Bath Spa, via First Greatwestern, but as I do not have a UK post code, I cannot purchase from the website. So how can I buy my train tickets from the US before my trip in three weeks? A see several websites like railpass.com and such but the $20 additional surcharges for "reservation requests" rather than confirmed reservations makes me apprehensive. It also appears I cannot receive my tickets via fast track as Heathrow Terminal 4 train…

Hi All,

Will be in UK in July for a few years. I've arleady opened up a HSBC UK account and will get a debit card when i get there. While in the UK im pretty sure i need an Aussie bank account because i will have people paying rent into the account and also will have mortgage coming out of it. I guess i want to find out if i can have a single account that i can use both in UK and Aus and that doesnt charge bank fees for converting AUD->GBP and vice versa. Probably too good to be true.

I was on BA website. It says a handbag/purse counts as "hand baggage". So, does that mean we can have 1 handbag plus 1 overhead cabin bag?? What about 1 briefcase/laptop bag, plus 1 overhead cabin bag. I will have a purse, and my husband will have a laptop/camera bag, we will both each have 1 overhead cabin bag each. Is this ok? Any info appreciated. Thanks, Lori

I would like to go to Bath for a weekend from London - and am surprised to find out that neither the MegaBus nor the National Express go there.

Are there any other bus companies that go there?

Trains are very expensive and I don't want to rent a car.

Many thanks!

Hey all,

Does anyone know the best possible way to purchase attraction tickets in advance in London, by beating the queues. Are there any particular websites, or general tips... etc. Because I'm going to London in late June and I beleive that it is pretty busy at that time.

Thanks,

Damian

Hey all,

Could anyone recommend the best way to get to Hampton Court? (Via some tube station etc?)

I realise that it is in Zone 6, and if possible, would taking a bus be the cheapest way to arrive? Many websites actually say it's best by train, and then bus to the palace itself.

Hope to get some advice here, thanks! ;)
