hey everybody!

i'll be arriving at london paddington on monday and will need to get to stansted airport. i've been told i should take the terravsion coach from liverpool station. how long should that take and how much should that cost? can i take the city bus from paddington to liverpool? it's so much cheaper than the tube. does anyone know which bus number? thanks for your help!

users of stansted airport be forewarned: there are one or two a-holes, for lack of a more precise term, who will insist that you carry one carry-on bag only through the security checkpoint, even though your hand items(such as your laptop and "gel" toiletries which they want to inspect separately anyways) can comfortably fit in that carry-on.

Last year a friend of a friend flew from Manchester to Salvador, in Brazil, return for 500 pounds. My boyfriend is looking to do the same, but all quotes we've had flying from Manchester or London have been around 700 pounds. I don't remember who she went through, but I remember she said it was through a holiday company, not a usual airline.

Anyone have any ideas? Of cheap flights, or who these 'holiday' bookers might be? I've looked at a few but their websites are not as clear as normal…

I did quick search about Blackpool on the forum and am very surprised about the negative feedback about this city. But, well, we are going to visit Blackpool for the most-renouned dance competition in late May and June next year. I'm moving to a flat in Battersea - near Clapham Junction this weekend

I'm struggling to find details on how badly battersea was flooded - can someone let me know?

The flat is on the 3rd floor so I think its unlikely that it would be flooded itself.

I have booked a flight from City Airport and am staying near Victoria Station. I looked on the website for the airport and it seems I would need to get 3 trains to get there. Would it be easier to get a taxi and how long would it take to get there for a 9.30am flight?

ANyone from south africa (cape town) living in Bristol or been there lately?

I am an Australian living in Australia planning on applying for HSMP. Assumming I get this do I have to apply for the entry clearance in Australia? I would like to hit the road before waiting for approval (hopefully) to come through. Will I have to fly back to Australia to apply for the entry clearance or can I do it at a british embassy somewhere else? I'm sure this must have been answered somewhere else on here but having problems finding it.

Has anyone participated in a National Trust working holiday in England? Again, was it a positive experience?
