I'm planning to walk the Cotswold Way in May.
If anyone has done the full walk, which direction do you recommend? North to South or vice versa?
Thanks very much,

We are going to be spending two days on the Isle of Wight in early September. Yes, that's right when Bestival is taking place, but it fits with the rest of our plans that way. Our main aim is to get some scenic beauty after spending three days wallowing in naval history in Portsmouth. We have guidebooks and web sights, but does anyone have a favorite spot we shouldn't miss. The only thing I'm absolutely sure we want to see is Yarmouth Castle.

Also, any good experiences with B&Bs along the…

I will be traveling to London on business the 3rd week of May and staying in London for about three nights.

I get to pick my hotel, which my company pays for, but I do have to be mindful of the budget.

I like the Mayfair area and the last time (3 years ago) I stayed at the Park Lane Mews Hotel on Stanhope Row. Unfortunately that place has no available rooms when I'll be there.

I prefer small, non-chain hotels that are clean and safe with a private bathroom. Wi-fi is a must.

The Park lane…

We're planning our first trip to England. We're US citizens aged 70. Although we have never had a traffic accident, have not had a traffic ticket this century, and are in excellent health, we have read than we may not be able to rent in car in England due to our age. Note: we did not read this in Lonely Planet's "England". Any thoughts and advice will be appreciated before I visit the car rental websites listed in Lonely Planet's "England". Thank you.

I'm planning to visit Castle Howard in May with bus. Bus schedule gives me two options - I could stay there for five or for three hours. Is three hours enough time (and I could get two extra hours for other places), or should I go for five hours stay?

Does anyone know how many villages, towns, and cities are in England? How many abandoned villages are in England?

Hello Everyone...

I will be visiting London for the first time in May. Very excited about it. Unfortunately we only have 4 days to spare, and with all the great things to see and do, it seems too short. So we need to squeeze as much as possible within those days.

We are planning to visit the Buckingham Palace (to check out the change of guards ceremony.), Emirates stadium and Old Trafford in a day. By public. Any great tips from fellow travelers on whether this is possible? We are staying a…
