Why is Jane Austen having her face on the new 10 quid note?

Why not have Adele's face?

She has 3 million 10 pound notes in the bank- far more than Jane ever had!

So, we're going to Stonehenge - I know it's "overrated" and full of tourists, but we're staying with some friends in the area and won't have transportation costs etc. - we're going.

The question is, do we do one of those "special access tours" that takes you into the inner circle?

If it's worth it, which company is best?

I'm a lifelong history buff, and Stonehenge has been a must-see since childhood. My traveling partner is a design student who's mostly coming along for the ride. I'm also a…

Hi guys,

I'm driving down to Devon (on M4 then M5) after work on a weekday from London and would like to get a bit of dinner about 7-ish, which I'm estimating will be somewhere between Swindon & Bristol. Normally I'd just get something at a service station but it's the start of a weekend away for the other half's birthday so thought something a bit nicer might be in order, but not something that added hours to the journey. Does anyone know a decent pub or something near the M4 where we could…

Hi

I am going to stay in London in end of July for 4 weeks and need to have the internet. I will be bringing my laptop. I am looking into the best deals for dongles etc. I have found a company in Australia who let you rent a mobile wifi service (tep) with 150mb a day for $102 a month. They are called Visit Britain Australia. Just wondering if anyone has used them and if they are a good service? Also, if you don't use the 150 mb in a day, will it roll over or do you just lose it?

Or, are…

We are a married couple (43/39) from Pakistan and have firm plans to visit Malaysia for the first time ever in the 2nd week of July 2013 for a duration of approx two weeks.

We are looking for another couple with/without kids to accompany us for some added enjoyment (preferred if they are also Urdu speaking). This will surely ease on our budget as hiring a bigger apartment and a bigger commutation van is always economical.

We can cook together, so it will further reduce the cost on food and…

Norfolk

Hi

Can anyone recommend a boutique hotel on the Norfolk coast?

The occasion is a romantic break at a picturesque coastal location such as Hunstanton, Cromer, Holkham, Wells Blakeney etc, but we're open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

I have return flights from US to London as follows:
- Land Friday 6am
- Weekend, entire next week, weekend
- Fly out early Monday morning.

So total 10 full days.

Now - out of those 10 days, I'm guessing 3 or so will be London proper, and then 2-3 days can be used for day trips to Bath/Windsor, Oxford/Cambridge.

At this point - I still have about 3-4 days left (depending on how many day trips I take).

Would you advise:
- Filling the rest of the time with more day or 2 day trips (I fear I'll get…

Hi there,

I'll be traveling through London for a couple of days at the end of July. I am looking for budget lodging options for my boyfriend and I. We are probably a bit old for the hostel scene, but definitely open to it (if they'll have us--we might be too old).

I've been looking into EasyHotel and am curious to hear thoughts on the various locations in London. Victoria stands out to me because of its proximity to Westminster Abbey, Parliament, etc., but I'm curious what people's…
