Im going to London at the end of August.
Dont know London that well so if anyone can reccommend a cool/boutique hotel thats sort of affordable in an area of London with lots of good restaurants and bars.
Dont want to stay in a mad touristy area - just want to be able to stroll to cool area with lots going on.

Thanks

Try the Hoxton Hotel

Hmm the words "boutique hotel" and "affordable" don't usually go together.

#1 is a good suggestion, but a couple of other boutique hotels are:
Malmaison
Zetter

Not sure they'd be most people's idea of "affordable" though!

I'd second the Malmaison. Should be able to get discounts at weekends, and the area is what you are looking for. Not touristy at all.

Just don't bring a cat and expect to swing it round your room.....

www.22yorkstreet.co.uk is a 2 minute walk from Baker Street tube. I stay here when I'm in town.

There is a couple of hostels in Grenwich in the south east, cant recall the names of both but i think 1 is called the st christophers inn.

the area isnt super touristy and fairly easy to get into the middle of town on the river, there are also a ton of little places to eat round there.

I'll back up the Hoxton.

Lovely place.

Our London residence.

We paid about £75ish per night for a double room in November 2006.
