We are heading to the UK in October and currently applying for a Visa. I noticed that you can obviously only work for 12 months if you are staying for 2 years however if our intention is to stay for 9 months and work the entire time then travel another 3 months around europe is the time working pro-rated or will this be ok.

Hope that made sense.

It's not legal as at least half your time in the UK should be holiday, but people do it anyway

Im guessing the implication is they would send you back. Im assuming though that we could say we are going for 2 years and decide to stay for less. I cant see any harm in that?
