For the sake of a Schengen visa application, I'm looking at a Paris -> LHR -> Bangalore (India) ticket. All on one ticket so should stay airside.

As an Indian passport holder, I need a UK transit visa in case of airside transfers (without going through passport control). There are numerous exceptions to this rule, such as holding a valid US visa. Which I have. I have transited several times at Heathrow to/from US, so I don't need a UK transit visa.

But in the Paris - LHR-BLR flight, do I need a transit visa? I have a US visa which should remove the requirement but does the exception hold through only for flights to/from US?

Any thoughts?

OK never mind- seems too confusing and conflicting. I have made a different booking to avoid the LHR transit to avoid any potential issue.

You do not need a UK transit visa in your case, see:
https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa/y/india/transit/no
Exemptions
You don’t need a visa if you have one of the following:
a visa for Canada, New Zealand, Australia or the USA (this can be used for travel to any country)

I did see that link. I also saw another link which was conflicting. Then I realised one is for airside transit, and the other for landside transit.

Oh well.
