Hi all,
I'm a Canadian with a job offer in London. I need to start right away. I am eligible for a UK Ancestry Visa and I already have all the required documents to apply.
Can anyone tell me how long is the processing time to obtain the Ancestry Visa from Canada? (I already have all my required documents, so that part is not an issue.)
Is there a way to speed up the process? A priority service that one can pay a fee for? A letter from an employer? Etc.?
Thanks for all your help!

Specific times are always difficult, and I'm not Canadian so this is a guess but generally turnaround times are both reasonably quick (as in, a week or two) from the time you post it in, to the time you receive it back. The High Commission will usually advertise it's current turnaround times on it's website - my experience suggests if all your documents are in correct, you meet the criteria and you've filled everything in properly and you've remembered to pay, you can about halve that.
The only way I know of to speed up the process is to present your documents over the counter. I have had an ancestry visa done same day doing this (not in Canada though, but British high commission's tend to operate on approximately similar rules).
