So I'm heading up to the Norfolk area from London at the end of September. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get there (if you dont have a car) and where to stay. Also I'd gladly take any sight seeing suggestions always.

Where in Norfolk? It's one of the larger counties in England so there's a lot of possibilities.

I like the Burnhams (Overy Staithe & Market). Beautiful, interesting.

As #1 says it's a big place. Easiest way to get there is a train to Norwich.

Trains from London Liverpool Street will take you to Norwich for about £15-30 depending on when you visit. It's a great city and surrounding countryside is nice. If you get anywhere near the coast, be sure to check out Walberswick and Southwold- beautiful beaches, lovely pubs and campsites with teepees for hire. Apparently Johnny Depp just got a place there too...

Walberswick and Southwold aren't in Norfolk, charming as they may be.......

At the other end of Norfolk from Norwich is Kings Lynn - near the Wash, Sandringham, etc. From £36 return from London.

Trains on from Norwich will get you to Cromer & Sheringham on the north coast, or you could head east into the Broads. The first map here will give you a good idea of the geography of rail routes. Other than that, it's buses, which are likely to be far more of a headache.

I loved Norwich. A great cathederal, a castle and a market that has been running for centuries.

I want to travel from London to Swaffam and then on to Wells. No idea how to do this. TRains, buses, i've been looking.
