Not as madly expensive as you would think, but still not cheap.

St John's spitalfields if it is on their menu at the time you go.

I saw it on the menu at Chez Gerrard (St Pauls branch) and I assume its the same for the other locations.

Cheers all. Wanted to go to the Wolseley for ages, so this is the perfect opportunity to go. A mate wants to eat Steak Tartare out of view of his veggie missus, so we're planning a carnivore's night out. Chez Gerard looks good too - will save that for future reference.

The Ivy does an excellent steak tartare and isn't too expensive, though it can be difficult to get in - pick an unpopular hour.

Having said that, for a carnivorous night out I think it would be difficult to beat St. John's!

Yes, St John is great, I agree. I'm not sure Steak Tartare is really their sort of thing though - they're best with the bits of the animal everyone else throws away and we specifically want steak tartare!
