Hello! I will be visiting London in June and am organizing a dinner for 9 people. Does anyone have recommendations for a Persian / Iranian restaurant? This is a mini-reunion with a couple of friends I went to high school with in Tehran in the 70s, as well as our families. We have two, very well-behaved children, so "family-friendly" is a requirement. We obviously want great, authentic food, but an interesting atmosphere would be wonderful, too. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!

There used to be a restaurant on Edgware Road called Iran which looked quite good.

Might be worth checking out this restaurant-review site, which I usually find reliable, or the Time Out site.

I'd forgotten the name of it (I'm not a Londoner so it's a few years since I was there). However, through the magic of Google I've found it again! It's called the Simurgh and it's between Covent Garden and Leicester Square. The food was damn nice when I was last there.

I would imagine there must be some in the Edgware Road, don't know any by name though.

Shehrezade in High Street Kensington, but less formal than that is Dish Dash at 9 Park Walk, Chelsea. There's also a Dish Dash in Balham but don't know what that's like.
