London - Off the Beaten Path

Don't forget Greenwich (pronounced 'Grennitch'). There's the Royal Observatory, next to some fine views over London, the Observatory itself, the Meridian line (if you don't want to pay to get your photo taken crossing it in the museum just step over it on the pathway immediately below), the Cutty Sark - and the foot-tunnel under the Thames on the way back. Not to mention all the fine Maritime buildings on or near the waterfront.
Get there by DLR (Docklands Light Railway) which also runs through Canary Wharf. Come back the same way but from Island Gardens on the north side of the Thames.
