Lincoln cathedral, is on the top of a hill and pretty unspoilt. As far as churches, there is one just outside the village of Walesby in Lincolnshire, which is on the side of a hill and several hundred yards from other buildings.

Ely Cathedral is also on top of a dramatic hill, with a river at its foot, and photographs well from a distance. (Close up, other buildings will be more visible.)
There are quite a lot of churches in coastal settlements in Norfolk and Suffolk which would fit your bill.
Note that you can't get inside Normanton Church that #11 mentions (if that's relevant).
Some excellent ideas there folks - thanks :D
I must admit photography was the main aim. I was looking for buildings that are recognisable as churches still - so ruins are fine, but they must still have church-like features.
I'd like some nice interiors too, but I think the big cathedrals are probably a better bet there.
Thanks again, and if anyone has any more suggestions, please pile them in!

If you choose the one we suggest do we get a free pic in return ;-)
i know an awesome one in sweden- dont suppose that helps tho :-P
OzTart: LOL, perhaps. As for Sweden that's not entirely helpful - that said I keep meaning to get to Sweden, so maybe, one day ;)
