hello!!!
does anybody know cheap hair dressers or areas to get my hair done in london? i am living in kensington and am assuming they will be very expensive there.
thank u xxx

if you have got the time (2-3 hours) and dont mind a supervised student dying your hair then go to one of larger salons training schools. Tony&Guy in Knightsbridge charge £5. Vidal Sasson in Covent Garden are similar. Worth asking at some of the smaller salons too.
I agree with #5 - that's what I was going to suggest. As long as you don't mind risking coming out with purple stripy hair then you should be fine!! No, seriously - they're pretty good actually and there's always someone supervising. In fact if all you want is a trim, you should do it without thinking. If you want a new restyle then you need to know exactly what you want because it is not a good idea to say "go on, do whatever you want" - because they actually will, and the result may be pretty hilarious . . . (Not happened to me, but it has to a friend!!) If you hang around Oxford St or anywhere around there then you'll most likely be approached by someone brandishing a card for a student hair-cut anyway, without even going to the salon! And they're often free, not even £5!

I have said "do what you want - the caveat is it has to be easy (less than 5 mins ) to do in the morning and have never regretted it.
I used Vidal Sassoon training school for 4 years and never came out without a good cut. They chopped it short but I was up for it at the time. The only thing is they do colour and its really well done but they don't do highlights. On the other hand, I've yet to have my hair cut/ coloured as well since - if I could afford the time, I'd go back.
Tip - take a bottle of water and something to read - and be prepared for it to take a morning/ afternoon - its a long process.
