The Novotel on the Euston Road has a glass lift. You can see most of london from the top. I also love the views from Alexandra Palace. It is a bit out of the way though.

go to Peter Jones dept store in Sloane Square and go up to the cafe. Get a good view of the city across the rooftops.

I was going to suggest Ally Pally too, for a view of a wider area.
