We are arriving in London in October and planning many w/e getaways to other parts of Europe. I have looked at how far away soe of the regional airports are, Stansted, Gatwick etc. however wanted to ask someone with some experience which of all of the airports is the easiest to get to. Keep ing in mind that Ryanair, easyjet etc have insame times to fly to anywhere for the cheapest deal.

Gatwick is the closest to south London, but don't discount Heathrow or City, both probably more convenient than those in the far north of London.
Is it really cheaper if you have to spend a night at the airport, or pay £50 for a minicab to Stansted, so you can get a £1 flight to somewhere miles from anywhere?

this is why I am asking. The gatwick express isnt that expensive as well. Compared to flights here is Oz, it still works out far cheaper.

Gatwick by far. It's only about an hour or so on the train, goes directly and isn't too much money.

Gatwick is easiest because its 30 minutes on the Southern Train service - IGNORE Gatwick express as it only stops at Victoria as its way more expensive.
Stansted is also easily done as Terravision run coaches from Greeline Bus station beside Victoria at £8 single and they run through the night.

Gatwick definitely
Just go to Clapham Junction and get the train and don't even bother with the Gatwick Express as it's cheaper to just get on normal train
