I'm traveling to London for 2 weeks. I have an Ipad mini with a US data plan from Verizon. Can I take out the Verizon nano sim card and use a UK nano sim card? I would like to get local rates for data. If I can do this, where would be a good place to buy one?

I'd appreciate any advice.

Rob

You can, but London is riddled with wifi hotspots, why not simply use wifi and leave the verizon sim card at home.

If you're still not convinced, either buy a hotspot account on a PAYG basis or get a sim card as you say (carphonewarehuose is a major high street chain and could easily sort you out). Refer also to http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-mobile-broadband

I would go with a payg SIM card. O2 (has much better coverage than the others) is what I use £15 for 3gb. I was on a contract, but was just wasting money. A pay as you go SIM card is much better value and I just buy a new one when it expires.
