Hi, I am trying to organise a camping trip for a group of about 8 friends from the age of 25-30 in South East England, preferably between London and Leicester although any of the counties around London would probably be fine. We have our own tents and are just looking for a campsite that allows campfires and that will allow groups without children. It's been surprisingly hard to find! If anyone knows of anywhere or has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

I doubt you will find one that allows camp fires. They have very strict rules about barbeques so a fire is definitely out.

Here's a rather long list of campsites which allow open fires.

Your problem is more that the Leicester-London axis is not great camping terrain, and you'd do better in almost any other part of the country.

I've often been camping with all adult groups, usually cycling clubs, and not been aware of being turned away. But perhaps affinity groups like that find it easier to book in a campsite than unspecified groups of adults in the prime of their irresponsibility.

Hi, thanks for the advice. I think I've managed to find a suitable place in Oxfordshire.

The UK campsite website is extremely handy for future reference though, thank you.

Henley upon Thames is a beautiful area and has some great campsites, just outside the main town. We've stayed there loads and it's accessible by train.
