Hi guys,
I'm coming to Burnham, Windsor as at 3rd June 07 until 9th June 07. It's for work. Anyone could tell me how I'd get from London Heathrow T3 to Burnham Station via Train or Coach (not Taxi)? Also, what's there to do on a weekend? In addition, is it far to head over to Oxford? Or London? Help me out chaps!!!

Hi
Bus is probably best. Get a First bus. Not sure if it actually stops in Burnham or if you have to change at Slough. Either way it shouldn't be a big problem. Bus leaves from Heathrow Central Bus Station.
Alternatively, if you don't like buses...
either get the heathrow express from Heathrow and get off at Hayes & Harringdon. Change to a 1st Great Western Train stopping in Burnham
or
Get the tube to Earls court. Change at Earls Court and get onto the District Line up to Paddington Tube station. Walk from Paddington Tube station to Paddington Train station (coupla minutes) then get on a 1st Great Western train stopping in Burnham.
National Rail
1st Great Western
Both those examples seem either expensive or rather long winded! So bus would be much easier for you.
One thing I would say - don't completely discount a taxi. Perhaps not a Black Cab, but maybe you could arrange a licenced Minicab to pick you up? If you are staying in a hotel, ask the hotel to recommend a company. I used to get a minicab from Heathrow to Wimbledon (further away than Burnham is to Heathrow) and paid approx £25 - £28. Ok not cheap (certainly cheaper option is the train, even the Heathrow express example) but it was very easy. I only did this for flights at bizarre times though (6:30am flights etc) so not sure if it makes a difference when you leave.
No clue what Burnham is actually like sorry. But, Windsor, Windsor Castle and Eton are both nearby. Would definitely suggest going there. Depending on what time you actually arrive into Heathrow you could actually do a day trip on Sunday. Google Windsor Castle and the first link should have the information you need. Last entry to the castle is 4pm.
It is very easy to get to London from where you will be. The train will go to Paddington station in London.
Relatively easy to get to Oxford. Perhaps become very familiar with various journey planner :) and you can work out various permutations.
Have a good trip!
