Hi,

who knows a place for hiring a camping car, bus or caravan for low budget travellers in/around Stockholm? Maybe even private hire is available?

We're 2 adults plus a 2 year old boy, not very demanding, but would like to spend a 2-weeks-holiday close to nature from 21st July (!!). We need to escape alldays' stress and just can't find an affordable vehicle to chill out in the outdoor paradise of sweden!

As an alternative we'd be grateful for any advice, where to get camping gear to hire!

I would think there would be an online form to reserve and pay for them, but I can't find anything on the website (http://fi.is/en/). I emailed a couple of days with our request, but haven't yet heard back. Any tips?

Also, if we are able to get hut accomodations for our entire trip along the Laugavegurinn, do you think it is safe to leave the tent behind? We're semi-experienced hikers and will have a map, compass and a GPS.

I've got one week, flying into Stockholm, and looking to see the sights and party.
I'd like to work in at least 2 of 3 of Stockholm, Helsinki or Copenhagen, and if people were in agreement, I'd try for all three.

Thinking Monday/Tuesday night in Stockholm,
Wednesday morning fly to Copenhagen 1 night
Thursday morning fly to Helsinki 1 night
Friday night overnight ferry to Stockholm
Saturday night Stockholm
Roll/Crawl into the airport Sunday morning and fly home

I am in Stockholm at the moment, I have hired a car and I want to drive around Sweden and camp out. Does anyone know where (if possible) I can hire camping gear? I am after a 2-person tent and 2 sleeping bags. Preferably from somewhere in Stockholm, but if it is from somewhere near here it may be on the way to wherever I am camping so that would be fine too.

I appreciate any help people can provide.

Just curious what the Danes are thinking about the new bridge that will be built between Denmark and Germany?

I'm going to Iceland for four weeks in August, and can't wait! My first night will be in Akureyri, and to save money I am going to try to camp. However, my book doesn't give details regarding how to get to the Hamrar campsite in Akureyri. Can anyone help? How do I get there from the airport (or even from the center of town)? Is there a bus?

I am trying to get an idea of what 4x4 to rent...

The only piece of non-Ring Road we're going to do is the road from Selfoss to Landmannalaugar (North itinirary) with Roads number 30 /32 / 26 and F208. Borkur said the Jimny was a terrible choice, and so I checked, we can afford to rent to Toyota RAV4... Is there a big difference between the two for what we're going to do ?

Also, is there ANY way to insure a non-4x4 car on the F208-road to Landmannalaugar ?
