| ckh23:45 UTC28 Jun 2007 | Hello, My partner and I are going to Stockholm for a wedding and have about 5-6 days to play with. I have always wanted to go to Norway and have heard and read that Bergen is great and the fjords are incredible. It seems possible to take an overnight train from Stockholm to Oslo, then the beautiful train trip from Oslo to Bergen, and then do the Norway in a Nutshell or other day trips from Bergen for a few days, and return. It looks expensive, and we'd be spending time traveling, but maybe that's part of the fun. Or, we could spend 5 days island-hopping in Stockholm's archipelago, which also looks nice. Initially, we both wanted to do some hiking, which might be more possible on the islands, ironically, given the time constraint. I have two very rough itineraries here. Any advice to help us figure out which one is more fun or doable? Thanks, Carolyn.
Sweden Itinerary 1:
• Friday: arrive, stay in Stockholm
• Saturday: explore Stockholm Sunday: go to Vaxholm (first stop on northern route)
• Monday: Angso Nat. Park
• Tuesday: Svartloga or Arholma (farthest north)
• Wednesday: (back to Vaxholm, then Grinda (middle route), then Gallno
• Thursday: Fjardlang or Uto (bus from Stockholm, then boat to Uto? Both far south)
• Friday: return to Stockholm for dinner
• Saturday: wedding (time to explore Stockholm?)
• Sunday: explore Stockholm
• Monday: fly home in morning
Get an island-hopping kit, with a pass and extra pass?
