Hi All,
Im looking at travelling to Norway in Feb 2008 and am really keen to see the northern lights. Can anyone provide any advice on where to see the lights or any tours or any accommodation? Id love to hear about any experiences too. Thanks.

There's a another NL thread here with plenty of info. In general, to avoid disappointment, it is best to head for a northerly located area preferrably north of Bodø.

..and make sure that it isn't cloudy!!! This is not (completely) nonsence - Norway in general is very cloudy - but GENERALLY more the closer you are to the coast - so any place as close to Finland/Sweden as possible - and way up north gives you the best chances. When there - and perfect weather - and getting a few kms away from city lights - then just croos your finger and hope they are turned ON that night.

best changes: get out of the coast side and take a trip to sweden or finland on a cold day. stay awake all night.

February is excellent time for northern lights.
