Blistering heat, beautiful people, food fit for gods and lakes that stretch as far as the eye can see. Your not going to believe me if I tell you that is what Finland is like in the summer. Well you better believe it because I have just come back from there and I was blown away. Forget the crowded beaches of Spain, Greece or any other Mediterranean destination. Head for Finland if you’re looking for a summer holiday like no other. It’s the perfect destination for a family holiday or a couple’s holiday, relaxing holiday or an adventure holiday. Finland has it all.

I agree, there are lots of interesting locations there, often rural, and the nights are very short during most of the summer.

It's however not always appropriate to compare Nordic Europe with the Mediterranean. The weather.
