Travelling Europe starting next Feb/March for a good year or so and are planning to follow music festivals. Can anyone recommend any good festivals ANYWHERE in Europe - the more random the better but including dance,modern bands, folk, local music etc etc. Any help would be fab! thanks xx

www.festivals.fi shows the festivals in Finland. My favourite rockfestivals are Provinssirock, Ruisrock and Ankkarock. Pori Jazz is biggest jazzfestival, Koneisto for electronic music. Helsingin juhlaviikot, www.helsinginjuhlaviikot.fi is three weeks long artfestival starting in August.

Here are my two favorite festivals in Europe. Loads and loads of good bands and very nice athmosphere. Party wise the Sziget Festival is "tåp-åf-the-lajn"... ;)

Stockholm Jazz Festival

Budapest Sziget Festival

Then you have the Danish Roskilde Festival and the Swedish counterpart Hultsfredsfestivalen . Not my cup of tea, but IF you are younger than 30 and like to get pissed with drunk teenagers check em out too...
