Foods you HAVE to try in Iceland:
If you are planning to dine out. I recommend to find the restaurant online beforehand. One good website i recommend is: | 1
What about rotten shark (Hákarl)? | 2
Definitely agree with the Icelandic lamb ! | 3
Previous posters have left out the most delicious Icelandic quick lunch - we had it most days for the 2 weeks we were there. Flat bread (called flatkokkur) with butter and slices of smoked lamb leg (hangikjot). Divine beyond words! And make sure you nibble on some dried fish (hardfiskur) smothered in butter! And you can't miss the hotdogs (pylsa) - "with everything"! Enjoy... Here are some more photos for you: http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Iceland/blog-435492.html And is the previous poster referring to the lobster bisque from Greifinn restaurant in Akureyri? If so, it was indeed the best, richest, most unbelievably delicious soup I've ever eaten!! Edited by: polyglot25 | 4
