Getting to svalbard

Hey Guys,
Im thinking of going to norway this summer for a grand tour, wich would include Svalbard. The problem is I have no freaking clue how too get there. If any of you know how and how much it is, that would be great

Depends on how much time and money you've got (a grand tour of Norway ain't gonna be cheap). The quickest, easiest and probably also least expensive way is to fly into Oslo, get another flight to Tromsø and then another from Tromsø to Longyearbyen. Check Norwegian and SAS for details.

The ONLY ways you can go to Svalbard is flying (from Norway) or on a cruise. Well or on your own ship.

Widerøe does not fly to Svalbard, but they do sell tickets for flights with their parent company SAS.

That's not true. You can also swim or, if you are Jesus, walk on water.

Or find a passing ice floe, set up camp, wait and hope you're drifting in the right direction.

More important than how you're gonna ge there, is what are you going to do there. Activities are severaly limited (its illegal to go outside Longyearbyen without a gun due to polar bears), and there is not exactly a whole lot to do in town. You WILL have to either book a tour, book a cruise or organize an expedition.

Does any where in the Lofoten area have an airport?

Svolvær, Leknes, Værøy and Røst have airports serviced by smaller aircraft to Bodø and Tromsø. If flying to Oslo directly, you have to use Harstad-Narvik Evenes.

Sick, i can go to tromso from london then to svalbard then to lofoten to Harstad-Narvik Evenes for oslo!

Any recommendation for a tour operator in Longyearbyen? Interested in 1-2 day tour.
