Cruise visiting NorwayCountry forums / Scandinavia & the Nordics
I have choice between two cruise which both visit Norway. The first one only goes to Oslo and the second whilst it doesn't visit Oslo it does go to Bergen and also to flaam and Hellesylt. The rest of the ports of the two cruise are the same. Any suggestions which would be better?
Depends on what you want to do and see really. Oslo is a larger City with more museums and attractions, though personally I find it the least interesting of the Scandinavian Capitals. The Oslo Fjord is Nice, but not jaw droppingly scenic. | 1
Having visited Bergen, Flam and Oslo, I'd go for the second option. Area around Bryggen and Fish Market is fascinating. If the tall ship Statsraad Lemkull is in its home port and you can get to it, it's worth a few photos at least. Seen it a few times in Bergen, but had a day trip out on her from Krirkwall in Orkney a few years back. Flam is a small place, but the views along the fjord are worth experiencing. | 2
I'd go for Bergen and Flam over Oslo, any day..... | 3
