Hello,

I'm a female traveling to Sweden for the first time. I will be going during the month of May. I'm backpacking so space is limited so I'm trying to figure out what my necessities are in terms of clothing and other items that may be a good idea to bring. I will be traveling from Stockholm to Malmo, and I may hit up Oslo if time permits.

What do I pack?
What kind of jacket will I need? Will a windbreaker be enough? Perhaps I should pack a fleece?
Will I need anything to stay in a…

Thinking about travelling Malmö - Gothenburg (as part of a longer trip) and was wondering: What's the best way to go - Bus, Train, Ferry? According to my map, the road doesn't follow the coastline - how about the train track? I am hoping for a journey with a view. Is there a connection by boat?
AND: Which of these is the cheapest way to get from Malmö to Gothenburg?

Thanks for your suggestions!

Me and my friend just booked a week in Stockholm at the end of May. Just wondering what there is to do thats fun and outdoors.

We like to do things off the beaten path and dont really care for seeing every major tourist site.

I would assume hiking and kayaking, but what else? All the information I am looking up online is contradicting about when certain activities are available, etc and I cant find a straight answer. Even with hiking and kayaking, I cannot find a place that offers it (except…

Hi wanted to ask if anyone knows how I can find a way to stay in apartment (subletting?) stockholm for just 2 weeks or so.

Also, I tried to find info re kurdish events this summer in stockholm and someone gave me a couple of ideas. However I have contacted one who have no info just now and the other group cannot be contacted. Any knowledge you can share with me about kurdish community groups and festivals/ art will be much appreciated.

Ps any ideas about good campsites in stockholm?

Has anyone visited Polar World in Orsa recently? The website no longer works and I am wondering if it is still open. Also, is the worth driving about 5 hours from either Oslo or Stockholm during my planned trip in July of this year or is it more like a zoo?

Hello all. Together with my daughter I am going to vist Sweden on a bus tour this summer. Please inform if it's possible to acquire Swedish needlework accessories (fabrics and threads included) in Stockholm. Would like to know exact location of stores. Many thanks in advance.

A friend and I are going to be in Stockholm and she really wants to see some of the archipelago (understanding that Stockholm is really part of it). I've read it's better to go to Vaxholm and go on a boat from there -- is that even a possibility at this time of year? I'm struggling with Google translate on the website for http://www.waxholmsbolaget.com/ to figure out any schedules. If it's worth a try, I'll have a car -- should we drive there or go on public transport?

Hi to all treckers

We would like to spend holidays in nature/mountains of Sweden (Norway also possible)

  • staying 2 weeks in Sweden = 12-14 days trekking (1-2 areas)
  • quite experienced treckers - a couple (Island- Hornstrandir, Himalayas - Rollwalling valley)
  • prefer to stay in tent or small wooden huts
  • able to carry food for 8 days maximum

Please can you recommend any wild trek which is picturable (covering green nature as well)
??? Lapland, Laponia Kings treck, Langfjällets…
