Hello all,

I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy the Stockholm à la Carte package or should I just book the hotel by itself?

The package comes with the Stockholm card which has free transportation and admission to sights, as well as the hotel. The price difference between booking just the hotel and booking the hotel and card together is 1000 SEK.

We're travelling as a group of 5 adults and just spending a day and a half in Stockholm. Could 5 adults get from the hotel to the city centre/sights by the metro/taxi/bus and back in under 1000 SEK?

For those who known about the card, could we also use it to get to ARN airport from the hotel on departure day? The hotel would probably be in Biz Apartment Gärdet Sehlstedtgatan 4, Östermalm, 115 28 Stockholm, fyi.

Thank you!

Yes.
Your hotel is located near city centre. If you adopt the European habit of walking you will see and experience a lot more and need not spend any on taxi, Map.

No

The one/two days card I find very expensive for what's possible to do in that time. Since your hotel is not central at all, you'd better buy a transport only card, or even use taxis. Single bus tickets will easily eat out your money, more than museum admission.
You can use the transport card to go from and to the airport, at least part of the way, but it implies some changes between busses and/or trains, and it's quite delicate. (I never tried...) The card is on sale at the airport on arrival at newspaper stands and a few other places (200 SEK for adults, 72 hours).
The Stockholm Card is OK if you plan to visit at least 4 or 5 museums at do some boat/bus trips during your stay, so do your calculations...

Thank you both for your replies. I'll go without the card thanks to your suggestions.

Albin_2 - I know what you mean, I always enjoy a city better if I walk, unfortunately a couple in our party are older and may not enjoy the lengthy walks so what can you do.

Thanks again folks!
