Hi all

Im looking for hiking routes in southern Sweden that can be hiked in 1 1/2- 2 days and camping overnight.
The only thing is that i need to be able to get to and from the hike by using public transportation as i cant drive?

Any suggestions out there?

There are several trails along the Skåneleden Trail in Skåne (Scania), the southernmost province of Sweden. There is also good public transport. Skåneleden

Years ago I hiked three days and two nights on the trail leading Eastwards from Malmö.
Map

I took a bus from Malmo town to Torup, abt 30 minutes to start.
Bus Departure; Malmö C. Arrival; Torup

Check Google Maps for "Torups rekreationsområde" to get an idea of where the starting point Torup actually is at.

It is a nice hiking trail. It goes in lovely nature and passes several lakes of various size. There are no formal camping grounds that I can recall. But many sweet places for wild camping. Several spots have a simple shelter where you can wait out rainy weather. There is an outside place where you can safely make a fire for cooking, there is chopped up firewood and there is a bucket for drawing water from the lake.

Do it!

Many Swedish counties have a similar system of trails like Skåne - all named countynameleden.
Now I do not know if "southern Sweden" for OP is just anything south of Stockholm or actually Skåne.

But here is another example for Halland (the county between Skåne and Göteborg):

These trails normally connects with towns at least once/day where you can catch public transport.

Unfortunately there is little info on this big system of trails - especially in foreign languages - on the net, as these trails are not visited by many non-Scandinavian tourists (most want "to do Sweden - or even Scandinavia - in a week"), but you can always get maps and info at the tourist offices.

You can find other train in the blue bow at the bottom of this article: http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallandsleden

The southern trails aren't usually as frequently visited as some of the northern (mountain) trails and one reason it's sometimes hard to get thorough information may be that generally locals use them (except certain more well known stretches with nature reserves etc), or the fact many foreign visitors travel by car so they tend to be restricted to day trips rather than longer hikes. (I don't know how many tend to travel just for a week or more than that, I beleive many stay however actually a bit longer. Some rent cottages etc. I DON'T think most people wish to cover a whole country or Scandinavia in just one week, including people, which are plentiful, from nearby countries such as Germany or the Netherlands.)

The most known southern trails in Sweden are probably Sörmlandsleden (in Södermanland, aka Sörmland, south/southwest of Stockholm) and Skåneleden in Skåne (Scania) in the far south. The by far most known northern trail is called Kungsleden (King's Trail) between Hemavan and Abisko (more than 500km). If you want more detailed info pls let me know as I have some personal experience from several areas.
