From Arlanda airport to Sandhamn

Hi,

My husband and I need to go to Sandhamn immediately after landing at Arlanda airport. I checked the net for options/ways to go about this however, I was unsuccessful in getting a full view of how best to achieve this -> either not a lot of information or some sites don't offer English translations. I hope someone can give me a hand here and it'd truly be appreciated!

I understand ferry is the only means to reach Sandhamn. It can either be taken from Stavsnas (from Slussen first) or Strandvagen or Vaxholm. Our flight lands Arlanda around noon time on a Wednesday and we need to immediately go to Sandhamn. Questions are:
1. Which ferry terminal is closest to Arlanda? We plan to take the ferry to Sandhamn from there. And what's the fastest and not-so-expensive way of getting to that ferry terminal from Arlanda?
2. Based on your suggestion for #1, may we know what is the approximate time taken for each of the leg till we reach Sandhamn?

may I suggst you try http://www.resrobot.se
It searches all public transport. in case no reasonable public transport can be foundit suggests a "car trip" (rented car/raxi.

there are many Sandhamn -guess that it is the one on a tiny island far out in Stockholm Skärgård (archipelago)? This is "Sandhamn (Värmdö), but I am not sure that the system handles the ferries well. Better go to Waxholmbolaget and find the Brygge (harbour) that you want to reach in order to get to a ferry that goes there. - added below!!

It is a LONG trip in time I would guess.

Alternatively Look here: http://www.waxholmsbolaget.se/webroot/pdf/tidtabeller/16Ahost09.pdf here you find timetable for Bus from central Stockholm (Slussen) to Stavsnäs Brygge + ferry. You then only have to figure out when you can reach Stockholm C with the express from Arlanda and to take the metro (T-bana) the very short tour to Slussen.

Reread you post - you have most of this info. Forget what is closest to Arlanda - the Arlanda-Stockholm C- Slussen- Stavsnäs + ferry is the simples - and maybe the only you can do when not starting from Stockholm until after noon.
if you cannot reas a Swedish timetable (buss = bus ...;-) ) then use Googles translator of the whole page if you cannot locate the info in English. Resrobot - the first link - is in 4 languages, so there you are OK

You can also use this for Stockholm C to Sandhamn http://www.fsab2.nu/elmer2.asp in Swedish but must be easy to understand for en English speaking (Sök = Search, you can choose båt (boat) alone or bus+boat (buss båt, datum = date ....)
