Stavanger

Hi,
I am planning a short trip to Stavanger and Preikestolen in July. What are the costs of ferries in Lysefjord? I'd like to get to Tau by ferry and also I'd like to have a trip along the Lysefjord.
Is the Mosvangen camping ok and safe? Is it easy to get there from the airport?
Thanks!

Hi--
I am going to Oslo for a conference (June 14-18) and flying back to US on 6/24, so I am trying to figure out how to spend 5 days without running around like crazy and trying to see "everything"--yet seeing something and enjoying myself.
In other words, I think I will be happy to spend time in Bergen and to take some day trips from there to see fjords, nature, beauty...
From what I've read, I could probably take the train to Bergen, stay there as a base (trying to find a nice bed-and…

To take advantage of the minipris discount, I just booked a one way train ticket from Oslo S to Bergen in July on the NSB website. I have completed my online booking, but I have two questions:

  1. On the day that I was looking at, all trains involved a transfer at Honefoss. Are there no direct trains from Oslo to Bergen?

  2. All train options only provided a 5 minute transfer time at Honefoss. Is the transfer at Honefoss relatatively quick and straightforward since 5 minutes is a…

I'm planning to visit a friend living a few hours inland from Bergen in a village. Fill me in about the Fjords - best way to experience them, what to look forward to, activities, best season, best regions to see along this natural phenomena...Have a week's time.

We are planning to spend 24 hours in Alesund in mid-August. We're taking the Hurtigruten from Trondheim, which arrives around midnight. Then we'll be taking the boat to Bergen a day later (at roughly the same time). We'd like to find some place to stow our luggage for the day. Any suggestions? From what I gather online, the Hurtigruten terminal doesn't have storage lockers. The bus terminal does, but we don't know what hours it will be open. Does anyone know this? Are there any other…

Hello.
I just booked flights to Oslo Rygge airport from London Gatwick in late May. I started doing my research and left in deep shock. The country is sooo expensive. For example bus tickets from the Rygge airport to Oslo is 25 pounds for adult and 13 pounds for the child return. And this is just a beggining. The hotels in Oslo are not very child friendly. I tried to check the prices for 2 adults + 2 children and most of the hotels do not admit children! (It says the maximum number of guests is…

Hi, so I'm going to Norway in early May and was thinking of exploring the Naeroyfjord. I have either biking or hiking in mind. How are the trails during that time of the season? Will there be significant amounts of snow on the trails? I plan on going there from Bergen and have about 3 days. Thanks!

I'm going to attempt a bike trip with a mate from the top of Norway, down into Amsterdam, over 12 days in late July, leaving around the 20th or thereabouts. We're looking for someone who wants cheap road/camping trip to join us. You get a car with fuel for 2 weeks. All you need to do is carry our gear in the car, and meet up with us at the end of each day. We aim to go 100km or so per day. We'll probably do a mix of camping and staying in the huts that are dotted all over Norway. Might suit a…
