MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU ALL
Hi
I've got a seven night trip next week. I've arranged my first two nights (hostels in Stavanger and Preikestolen) and my last two nights (hostel in Bergen). However I've been unable to work out what to do with the three nights inbetween. I'm using budget accomodation, for just one person and will be travelling by public transport.
I'd like to see more of the fjords, and am interested in the myrdal, flam, voss, eidfjord region to hike, sightsee and try out a few other activities - maybe…
A large explosion has hit the central government offices in Oslo today. At the time of writing, 7 people are confirmed dead, and about 15 wounded. Large areas of down-town Oslo is currently cordoned off, people are advised to stay indoors and avoid crowded areas. Border controls have been introduced even for travel within the Schengen area, international passengers should allow for some extra time when crossing borders.
Hello,
Are there good 1-4 hour hikes in the Hardangervidda that are accessible from Geilo? We'll have an afternoon and an overnight in Geilo in August.
Thank you.
Hello,
I will spend few hours in Kristiansund (arriving at 16:00 with Hurtingen boat and take it back at 1:15 am), so I was thinking to go to the Atlantic Road as it"s only 30 km.
Can someone tell me how to go there? Is there any company organizing a trip to Atlantic Road? or any public transport from Kristiansund? I tried to make some researches but with no success.
Thanks!
We have been in Norway for a week and we have published in our blog some pics from Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Flam, Fjords...
Next 25 and 26th July we'll be sleeping in Stamsund. On 27th we have a reservation for the train Bodo-Trondheim at 21:10 pm. So, in the morning of 27th we should go by ferry from Stamsund to Bodo with enough time to spend a few hours in Bodo and then catch the train that leaves from Bodo at 21:10. We will travel without a vehicle so we will depend on public transport.
I have been browsing on the internet and the problem is that the Hurtigruten leaves from Stamsund at 22:00 and arrives in Bodo…
We will arrive in Andalness at 13:48 by train.
We want to visit Alesund, Geirangerfjord and after that we must come back to Bergen.
We are thinking about some possibilities:
1) Taking a bus from Andalness to Geiranger and sleep there (or close to there) and then visit the fjord.
(taking the public ferry Geiranger-Hellesyt)
Come back to Andalness and finally go to Alesund and visit this city.
2) Go directly from Andalness to Alesund and visit this city. And after that going to Geiranger
…
Do you know a nice and central appartment or B&B in centrl Oslo?
It's cheaper than hotels.
We are travelling with a baby, so we need something central as we are travelling by bus and trams.
Thanks
Hi there,
My boyfriend and I are hoping to catch a night train from Oslo to somewhere beautiful, but looking to do it on a budget. There seems to be so much choice, does anyone have any recommendations? We'd like to end up somewhere with a campsite.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Pippa
