Hello all, new to the forums. I'm visiting Trondheim on July 11th and wanted to find out about any "must go" places. I'd also like to visit other countries in Europe, but have no idea what's the cheapest travelling method from Trondheim. I've read about people buying a train ticket that let's them stop at different countries, and keep going with the same ticket. Again, this is my first time traveling, traveling tips are appreciated, thanks in advance! :)

More (better?) answers than anyone can write here at

Trondheim is FAR away from most of Europe and even visiting only Scandinavia distances are huge - so fly.

I do not ge the story - you are travelling from far away to Trondheim for one day? and then plan to begin a half year trip through Europe stating in Trondheim? or?
The prain thing you heave heeard about is probably Eurail (google) - first of all fogure out how long it takes to make the first legs: Trondheim-Oslo-Copenhagen at www.bahn.com

I'll be in Trondheim on July 11th, I'll stay up there until the 24th, but after that, instead of going home, I'd like to get on a train and visit other countries.

In that case, start by getting a guidebook (LP Europe on a shoestring, for example) to find out which other countries you want to visit.

At risk of stating the obvious, don't head straight onto other countries before you've had a good look at Norway - it's a truly beautiful country.

Thanks Aribo. I'll look into getting a guide book.
