Their search is seriously broken: I just made a naive attempt: it suggested you take the speedboat across in the afternoon, walk to the bus terminal in Bodø, then WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING, take a bus to Fauske, WAIT 4 HOURS, then take a bus back to the airport. It all takes 23 hours and 23 minutes! While the truth is, if the weather is OK you can even WALK from the ferry port to the airport. Alas, that speedboat is too late.

Unfortunately, looking at the actual schedules I see this is not possible. There is normally a speedboat from Svolvær at 06:30 on Saturdays, but this day it's cancelled. There's no bus either. Svolvær does have an airport but I guess you've already checked that.

So you'd have to go the day before except that's not possible: no transportation available. That is, you'd probably be able to get a place on Hurtigruten, leaving Svolvær 20:00 and arriving Bodø at 02:00 at night. If you don't need a cabin. Other than that, your last chance would be the speedboat leaving at 06:30 in the morning on the 5th. Or maybe you can get a flight on the 6th if there are any (probably not).

Sorry, Easter is problematic....

Oh wait, you had two alternatives! OK there's a speedboat at 14:00 on the 7th, arriving 17:30. No transportation on the 8th. So you'd have to spend the night in Bodø.

It would be helpful to know where you are in the Lofotens and if cost is an issue. Beyond the boat suggested by bjornmu, there is a ferry in Moskenes with several departures, a flight from Leknes airport and flights from Harstad/Narvik evenes airport direct to Oslo which can be reached by public bus. But since you have already booked the Bodo-Oslo trip that might not be useful unless you can cancel it and get a refund. Leknes-Bodo is run by wideroe and Evenes-Oslo by norwegian.no

There is a ferry from Moskenes on the 7th but again you'd have to spend a night in Bodø and then take the flight on the 8th. As for Evenes, that would be an alternative except there are apparently no buses from Lofoten from the 5th to the 8th of April.

Ah! But you can get a flight from Svolvær to Bodø on Danish Air Transport http://www.dat.dk/

Well if there are no buses that definately complicates matters. I also see now that they are indeed in Svolvaer so what you suggested initially or this flight would most likely be the best options.
Admitedly, its quite hard to find all these schedules online for people who dont speak norwegian. I remember spending quite some time figuring things out when I went last year. So its great that helpful people like you provide such support :)

bjornmu, thx so much. u saved me!! the guide book and tourist office web site doesn't mention this airline. i should get off hurtigruten on apr 4 in svolver, if i could find a cabin from kirkenes to svolver. i haven't thoought about which village to be based. but i guess svolver is better as a base to arrange day trips because we're not planning to drive. let me sort out the air ticket first :D

No wonder Danish Air Transport is not mentioned, since they're not operating this route. :-) They won the bid and are taking over the routes from Lofoten after Wideroe from April 1.

Did you book a flight on DAT? Your ticket is now invalid!!!! Wideroe has protested the decision and the ruling is now that they will continue to operate the route.

DAT says they will refund the tickets but it will take 6-8 weeks, and in the meantime you must try to book new tickets with http://www.wideroe.no/

Just read this on the news.
