My daughter and son-in-law have invited us to spend a few days at the family farm near Amnes, I think it is on an island south of Boda, it will be early October and I am wondering about clothing and what to do there. Any advice?

If your daughter and son-in-law live there, surely they can answer your questions?

I'm looking for independent ideas and opinions. They don't live there, they visit occasionally. I am hoping for someone with local knowledge.

Hi!
I've never been to Åmnes, but I have sailed past it a few times. The area is beautiful! I think you should try to get out in a boat, preferrably a traditional Nordlandsbåt. And perhaps a trip to the Island Lovund? And go fishing! You don't nedd to hire a guide or anything, just borrow a boat and row a few metres off the shore.
I don't know anything about Åmnes itself or what to do there. But the glacier Svartisen (the black ice) is not too far away, mabye you could take a day thip there too?
Definitely bring warm clothes, and raingear. It could easily drop below zero C, and it always rains a lot in norway in the fall.

Enjoy your trip!
