I have 4 days to spend in Norway. I intend to spend 2 in Oslo. For the 2 others I intend to take the train to Bergen, is the travel worth it ?, is it better to go from Oslo or to Oslo ? Is the package offered by Nutshell a good choice?
For buying train tickets, is there a better way to proceed, for price and choice, or can we can we just drop in at the station and buy the ticket there.
Is the bus a nice way to do the way, Which compagny operates ?

if you book the tickets early on www.nsb.no you can get the minipris ticket for only 199nok. Could save you some money. Bergen is defintitvely worth a visit.
I think two days in Oslo are more than you need, you can do most things worth seeing in one effective day. Take the saved time and do the nutshell tour, allowing for a stopover in Bergen. The trip itself is an experience and the city at least as worthwile as Oslo.
If you're travelling for sights then I'd do a day-time train, most buses operate at least partly on night-time. Operator is Nor-way Bussekspress (ho-ho-ho) at www.nor-way.no.
Does anybody know if the train tickets are covered by InterRail/Eurail for Oslo/Bergen return?

You can use a Eurail Pass for the trip from Oslo to Bergen, but there is a small booking fee. It's a beautiful journey, so I agree, do it in the daytime.

Hi, I'm not sure. I travelled in the winter and thought I'd be able to book with only two or three days notice, but discovered that I wanted to travel on a day at the end of a school holiday, so was lucky I enquired earlier than that (I think about 1 week). The train was fully booked and I got one of the last seats. I found the people on the ticket desks at Norwegian train stations really helpful, so maybe find out in advance if there are any special holidays around the time you want to travel by asking one of them. Even though winter is the low season, I found trains in Norway usually pretty full.
